Located 10 minutes’ drive up the Cardrona Valley from Wanaka, Gordon House is a three gabled form nestled amongst the trees on an expansive site. As a sympathetic response to its park-like setting and alpine surroundings, the gable forms rise from the flat site and are connected by two low pitched roof forms to create a pavilion style house. The living areas are located centrally between the guest wing of the house and the wing shared privately by the clients. This forms a central social space with raking timber lined ceilings and large glazing opening out to the surrounding mountain views.
